Default roadking fairing

I have been searching and have yet to see what I'm trying to do. What I'd like to do is use and oem harley batwing like other users have done but make it fully functional as far as the gages and such. But here's were it gets fun. I'd like to be able to set up the harness in a way that I could unplug all the batwing and return functionality to the roadking speedo. Or just have 2 speedos. This is for a 02 king
I have seen were a user here used a quick detach standard window with a empty oem batwing. I'm looking to retain functionality too.

I did post this in another section it seems better here though.

Sorry for the long post just brainstorming.

Thanks
Wayne

Check out this thread. I modified my 09 FLHP that had the standard RK speedo in the tank console and tach between the bars, to have a 2-up gauge cluster:

I also moved the indicator lights to be just below the gauges. Here is a shot with my windshield on:

Having the gauges in this location works with or without the windshield and would work with an aftermarket batwing that is just the fairing (no mounts for a radio between the bars).

While I am sure you could try and creating a wire harness that drives both speedos, I don't know if that would work...

Thanks for the idea was the wiring work or is it just a whole different harness.

The wiring was the existing harness and plugs/connections. I purchased the color coded wire and all of the correct crimp on connections. About $100 all in on this. With the purchase the shop tech crimped on each connection the proper tool. I took him about an hour and I bought him lunch while he was doing this. There should be some photos the various stages of the wiring work.
