Default Jagg Standard Oil Cooler or Fan-assisted?

Hello. I'm trying to make up my mind about which Jagg oil cooler to purchase for my 2010 SG. I recently built my stock 96 engine into a high compression 107 so I need to get rid of some heat. I've decided that I want to buy a Jagg oil cooler, but I can't make up my mind about which 10 row horizontal low-mount to get, the fan-assisted one or the standard one. I've read that a few people have had problems with the fan on their assisted units and I'm also wondering how much benefit the fan really provides. I don't generally find myself in stop and go traffic, just the occasional stop light. Any input is valued. Thank you.

Not sure where you live but I put a low mount, unassisted 10 row on my RKC before the summer. I live in Texas where temps during afternoon ride time can easily exceed 100. I noticed the oil cooler dropped the oil temps 10-15 degrees compared to last summer. I occasionally get stuck in traffic but I think it is doing its job. If I wanted to add additional cooling I'd look at the fan offered by Wards Werks.

I'm in Texas with a 106 and have run the Jagg with the fan for about 2 years. Haven't had any problems yet. As long as you're gonna spend the coin for a cooler, spend the extra for the better system; it's not that much more.

Read Donny Peterson ' s article in the latest issue of American Iron...deals with these two oil coolers specifically. He recommends the fan assisted...

I bought the first fan assisted oil cooler Jagg sold , Marv Bealls owner of Jagg sold me one before he had instructions printed and packaging done because I didn't want to wait , so no one has had one longer than me and I have had zero issues with the fan , the coolers works great by it's self but the fan is a nice option and does give benefits , I would get the fan model

I already had a wards fan on my heads so I decided to go with the non-fan style, but did put in a ward 140 t-stat. No complaints here.

I have the jagg fan assist and now the wards fans. The jagg has worked good but leaks often out of the hose connection. Its a pain to get to. I'm taking it off when I get back from sturgis and running the ward fans. Incidentally I have a 124 motor.

I'd almost decided on the fan-assisted model when I happened upon two separate posts on this forum with owners of the fan-assisted model complaining that their voltage regulator was rubbing against their front fender when hard braking. This kit does require the voltage regulator to be moved up some and my bike has been lowered 1" in the front, so now I'm concerned about getting this one. Anyone running this cooler on a lowered bike?

Forgot about the regulator. Mine hits the rear of my front fender. Stock fender with 19 inch agitator. Bike is not lowered.
