Would you say the color match to LED is pretty close? I'm looking for something to "match" my Custom Dynamics Ringz up front. The Sylvania Silverstars I put in aren't even close. They are still very yellow in comparison. I know it's going to be pretty much impossible to match halogen and LED colors, but until I decide which route I'm going to go with the headlight something like this could be an inexpensive temporary solution if they are close.
Maybe worth a shot then for the price. They're cheap, but a lot of cheap solutions that don't work start to add up. I have a drawer in the workbench I call "the island of misfit toys".

The color of the Silverstars are about 4000K, the Silverstar Ultras are about 4,100K. These cheapo's are 5,000K and are very white. If you don't like them on the bike, they'll probably work in your car.
I use an H4 LED bulb from CYCLOPS. It's about 60 bucks and worth every penny. I'm hoping they come out with an H3 for the spots. There is a ton of info & reviews on the bulb HERE.
Did you really think a $24 Chinese bulb was in anyway going to compare with a headlight that cost $170-500??? All the bulb replacement LEDs I have seen, you need to light a match to see if they are on

Take a look at the one I posted above. Read the thread on ADVrider. You will be pleasantly surprised.
OK I got the LED bulbs and tried them. Crap, crap, Chinese crap. I guess it is true , you get what you pay for. The problem was not that the optics did not match the LED light pattern ( I expected that would be the main issue ). The problem is that it is not powerful enough. Itc only draws 300 mA in low beam and 500 mA in high. But they advertise it as an 80 W equivalent bulb. Well I had fun trying something new and it did not brake my bank account.Sorry guys.
Can I buy an incandescent bulb that is motorcycle rated and more powerful than the stock bulb?
I put an Osram 65/70 bulb in mine and it really helped. Also upgraded the auxiliary lamps to a 38 watt bulb from the OE 27 watt bulb. Both made a difference. Only cost me $31 to do all 3.
No it won't. My $5 solution works great. Brighter than stock, spreads the light and lasts a long time.
Newer HD's are only getting 12 volts at the plug,a relay will give you 13.2- 13.6 volts. Most bulbs have their rated output at 12.8 volts. Your bulb throws a whiter light which the human eye perceives as brighter, but it probably isn't at 12 volts. There is a drawback to running the higher voltage, the brighter light comes from a hotter filament which will cut the lifespan of the bulb 30-35%.
