full face
I bought a FF one time, back when they came out, and sold it within a month or so. You see, I have/had allergies very bad and with a FF helmet, my sneezes make quite a mess. Also, after I sneeze, what then..? no way to blow my nose or clean up.. so I went back to my 3/4 and face shield… raise up to sneeze, and/or blow snot rockets. For the winter I have cut off, halfway, my glove's right index finger, leaving enough finger to wipe my nose….. but before I put on my glove, I put on a 'glove insert' (like in the cold weather gear used by the military) so that 'glove insert' which is now showing, can be used to wipe my nose…. In real cold weather, that snot saturated finger 'glove' will freeze, but I will save what is next for another thread……

In San Diego I wear a shorty, where the weather is always nice…
My Thoughts exactly!!!!!! JR
I belong to another forum and the favorite thing there is pick on Harley riders. Oh well, I chose the bike that fit me the best for what I wanted to do in my price range. The only person's expectation I have to live up to is my own.
BTW I have a full face helmet and 2 half helmets. I haven't worn the half helmets in over 2 years. I like the full face, although I usually go without a helmet in town.
I see probably 75% of the Harley riders up here with no helmet, including most of the people I ride with, I still choose to wear one. I own a true modular (jaw actually comes off) and a half helmet. For most of the summer months my modular collects dust, I just cant stand the heat/sweat/enclosure as much as I enjoy the extra safety. In the colder months my half helmet does the dust collecting.
I am also honest with myself and will be the first to admit I don't really care for the full face look on a cruiser, but that doesn't stop me from wearing one when I can stand it and I would certainly never criticize someone else's choice to ride safer!
I enjoy the wind blowing across my head, its a part of the experience I love and choose to do so knowing the risks. Its the same reason I own 2 windscreens for my RK that also collect dust.

My neighbor across the street who I ride with, wears a modular, and I would probably go for the modular myself, just have not researched what his make is, price, etc.
The State of Idaho next to me within 20 miles or so, has no helmet law. I myself wear a 1/2 helmet, and figure that it's better then no lid at all. I hate seeing riders without a skid lid on when I am over there riding.
The neighbor that lived next door to me was killed 2 years ago when he crashed his HD on a 2 lane divided Hwy, 20 miles from his house on memorial day. It was a shock to say the least, not sure if a deer was involved or what- he wore a 3/4 helmet.
I understand that helmets offer the modicum of protection given their design, though it's the sudden stop that really matters. Having just completed a 241 college anatomy and physiology class with cadavers, the cervical neck vertebrae are not that stout- I would hate to crash and come out paralyzed or so F---d up that my quality of remaining life would be horrible. My high school buddy who I ride with, who lives in ID., says that all a helmet really makes a difference in, is if you want an open or closed casket. When we go on a tour, he wears his skid lid though.
There is no telling what your outcome will be in the case of a crash, so may variables to consider. If I had to stop and think about the risk factors involved, and possible loss of life, such as that of my neighbor who died, i would not ride at all. However a helmet
is not a bad place to start as far as putting the survival odds more in your favor, 1/2-3/4- or full, better one of those than none at all.
Ride safe and look out for yourselves.

I have a modular, a 3/4 and a half hat. Depends on conditions and where I am going.
Some folks won't use condoms either........
