About a year ago I had a Stage 2 done on my 2013 RK. Screaming Eagle tuner, V&H V02 intake, and V&H Big Shots w/ baffles. The installer got it close, but I still get some popping when decelerating. Not a big deal, runs good, but I'm wondering if the popping is something that can be fixed with a dyno or if it's just something to live with. I don't mind paying for the dyno if it would help but I don't want to feed the dealer and have it do little or nothing. Opinions appreciated.
Harley dealers are not the place to get a tune. I'd suggest buying a tuner that will auto tune. Dyno time could cost you around 250.00 and up. But for about 350.00 and up you can get another tuner that will auto tune.
You could dyno your bike every day and get different results, but that would get pricey, with some sort of auto tuner, you can tune all you want for a one time price. Most people think you have to get a person to put your bike on a dyno to tune a simple stage one, but with all the advancements in software, most tuners with auto tune will be just as affective.
Popping on decel can be an indicator of an intake leak. It is common for bikes with mods to the air flow (like yours). Does the V02 have a gasket? There could also possibly be a leak between the throttle bodies and the intake manifold. Checking gaskets for leaks and maybe using some high-temp silicone sealant would be the first thing to do.
I have some decel pop on my sig bike, but it doesn`t seem to affect performance. If it`s not harmful I`m not going to change anything. Someone chime in if it`s harmful.

It's a symptom, and the symptom itself isn't harmful. What's causing the symptom can be harmful, however. I believe decel popping is caused by a bike that's running too lean. Too lean isn't a good thing for a number of reasons.
13 Heritage here with Vance and Hines slip on's stock air cleaner. Some decel pop. In my case some un burnt fuel in pipe ignite's due to heat in pipe, not because it's running lean in engine.
Talked with Reed at local Harley store here in Denver. He worked with Vance and Hines on software for the fuelpak3. He explained dyno time with simple air and exhaust change is not required these days with all the advancements with auto tuners.
Install an auto tuner, down load a base map and auto tune from there.
As for decel pop, again, it can be excess fuel in a hot pipe that ignites.
I run the Straight Shots with a cylindrical baffle, more room for air than an hour glass type baffle, so throw un burned fuel into lots of hot air and wa la, pop pop pop. Yes a air leak in the system can cause this also, but typically what I'm describing causes decel pop. So for a little more than an hour cost of dyno tuning you can buy a fuelpak3 and always have the ability of fine tuning your bike whenever you like. That's bang for the buck to stop the pop, lol
Decel pop in the pipe does not harm the inside of your engine!

Any suggestions on the best auto tuner? I seem to recall that I spent $500ish on the screaming eagle tuner. I went with a small micro tuner that they couldn't make work so I went with their recommendation (yeah, I know...).
If you are going no farther than Stage I, something like the V&H FuelPak is fine. If you even think that you might go more, then I recommend the Power Commander V with AutoTune.
The PC-V/ Auto was recommended to me by two good friends that have near 500k mi. with it on 5-6 different (Built) bikes.
'Running the PC-V / Auto on the '09 SERG 117/DD7 and I am very happy with it so far (6k miles on the Build). The bike runs fine everywhere, no sneeze, no pop, no flat spots etc...
The 117 Build has not been dyno tuned, and other than if a mild curiosity gets the best of me to see what the #s are, it won't see the drum.
With the PC-V /Auto you are out of the dyno business...
