Hard Start Issue, Erratic
Have an 08 Streetglide with 43K and the dreaded hardstart kickback problem. IT is completely erratic, it comes and goes and various times. Might do it if it is hot, been sitting for 5 minutes, 5 hours, or overnight. I just replaced the battery thinking it was a weak battery, and it lasted a day and did it again. Just rode the bike 500 miles over the weekend and did not do it until the 2nd day at my last stop. Should I go back through and start checking all the ground wires and such on the chassis or am I looking more at compensator or starter clutch?
Bike did this last year also about this time and when I had it tore apart installing cams I took the starter to a shop in town to be tore apart and checked and only had 1 bad brush. HAvent had any issues until the last month or so. Like I said completely erratic, that is what was making me think electricial but Im not so sure now.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!! I am entering the nickel and dime stage of owning this beast.
Just so everyone knows, o8 streetglide, 43K mikes, SE Cams, Stage 1 Aircleaner, SEST, dynoed 86 hp and 96lbs torque. And hopefully big bore kit to come this winter
