deer suck
Nothing helps with a deer... i keep my finger on my airhorn when near deer areas.. i saw 4 the night i brought my '14 home

Haven't hit one yet, but had a family member relate a story; Her and her husband were riding solo together in the foothills. It was hot as hell and she had just taken her chaps off. (yeah, stupid right) Anyway, a dear crosses the street in a gallop. She said she hammered the throttle to try to get past the dear before it gets to her...no way Jose, the dear hit her front wheel. The dear got all folded up as it passed the bike. Her husband behind barely had time to stop. With the exception of a bent fork, the rest of the bike and my family member was unscathed. Makes me think of the old physics adage: Mass time Velocity equals energy (MxV=E) Use the velocity to your benefit.

get well soon! this is one of my biggest fears too, we have so many deer here in missouri their are getting wasting disease and blue tongue disease and inbreeding in some areas, plus jumping out in front of everything that drives. i don't know why the conservation dept. does not let people take more deer or make the season longer. either that or teach the deer to only cross where the signs are.

Speedy Recovery to you and wifey. You Guys can't be replaced, but bike can be. Deer ran at me like if I was their intended target this morning and missed by a car length behind. Sure, I nearly soiled my pants.
