Are you saying that you are wearing out your front tire faster than your rear? I have never heard of that...

If I get 12K out of my rear tire, I'll be happy. Most I have ever gotten is just under 8K on a metzler. Granted this is my first HD and I came off of metric cruisers, but 12K would be great to me.

As mentioned previously, the current ESP cuts off at 3/32 but you need to read your plan. Current ESP's have a $50 deductible on tires.

as stated many times in this thread - the ESP will cover a flat tire down to 3/32. But the mechanic will test the wear at several points on the tire where marked and if any one is a hair less than 3/32 get your wallet out.
Every once in a while the insurance company will send an inspector out to see the tire before it's approved. I really think this step is to make sure someone in the shop isn't scamming the insurance co though.

Most tire manufactures warr tires for 4 years from manufacture date for ozone cracking. You might want to check the date on the tire you could be cutting it close.

Thanks for all the replies guys. To me the back tire still looks new and the front looks good as well. The only reason I stated 4/32 both front and back because that is what the "tech" wrote on the service paperwork a few weeks ago. I need to look for my paperwork that I got with the bike, the esp crap should be in there if I have a copy. If not, construction zone here I come, lmao... Or I might just happen to find the nail after I park it in the garage with the head scuffed up, so I am not stranded away from home, hehe. If esp don't cover my tow, my insurance will cover to the nearest "certified" HD service center and around here, that's Savannah HD about an hour away. Thanks guys.

Just curious and it does not apply to this issue, but do they ever patch a tire any more. Like if a nail is right in the middle of the tread and the tire has plenty of tread.
