How mechanically inclined does one have to be to pull off this job? Would love to do it rather than buying the 2015.
I'd say if you do your own wrench turning (oil changes, Stage 1, basic auto repair) you should be able to do the conversion. I don't recall there being any special tools, other than a good sturdy (J&S style) jack. And I only say that as the jack makes it easier to move the steering head while working. It's really an unbolt this and attach that kind of operation. I did the conversion instead of buying a new bike, and I'm totally glad I did it!!!!
The rest of my parts came today, and I started the conversion, I put about 3 1/2 hours in tonight. The only problem I ran into was gauge fittment. I will say this is the drawback to the aftermarket fairing. I found a work around and all is good so far.
Will this part list work on a 2013 SG? Will having progressive monoshocks that lowering the front end impact this build (I dont think so, but thought I would confirm)? Thanks
Made some more progress tonight, got the inner and speedo housing mounted, and most of the wiring done. Since I opted not to buy a new interconnect harness, I had some wires to extend. I got the speedo, tach and cigarette lighter wires extended. Still have to extend the indicator lights harness.
I also need to pull the HK radio apart an soldier the aux port, seems that it came lose again.
Question for those who have done this:
The turn signal wires that are on my bike now share wire plug with the driving lights. The plugs for the new signals do not match up. If you have run into this, what was your solution?
Anyway here are a couple of pics or my progress this evening.
Still need to clean up the wires and tuck them away a little more neatly
Awesome to see this, especially by another local! I'm doing the conversion right now, too. I decided to get the RG interconnect harness, so if you don't have an answer on the signals by tomorrow, I can answer your question when the mail man drops mine off.

Yes that list is correct for your 2013. All of the RG parts are interchangeable regardless of year except headlamps, interconnect harness gauges and radio. Lowering springs should not affect, cross reference your part # to be positive via their website.

I appreciate the response. To be clear, I'm slow lol, my gauges and radio are not interchangeable or the harness that connects those items. Thanks again.

Incorrect. You need HD 70274-10 interconnect harness. You can use the gauges you have, as well as the radio. Everything will plug right in to the RG harness.
