Folks, I'm aware that if the security key light stays on its indicating an electrical/lighting issue. (I've had first hand experience fixing a pinched wire on my bike)
Today I had to pull over because a buddy had leg cramps. I put my emergency flashers on I believe while the ignition switch was still on (stopped the motor with the kill switch).
After he had it worked out, I started the bike and thats when I noticed the key light was on.
A couple miles later, I pulled over, turned the bike completely off, back on again to check lights. The key light turned off, I had all my lights, turn sigs, charging system fine, etc etc etc - all totally normal.
And it wasnt an issue the rest of the day.
Is the security key light supposed to stay on after you turn your flashers on until you completely power cycle the bike?
Guess I better read the manual. I had the same happen today. Lol. I also noticed the right turn signal didn't work. Rode another 75 miles with the red key on. Did a reset by shutting everything down when I finally did stop. No problems and signals all work fine
