My Zumo 390LM came with a hookup for the bike, and a usb cable to connect to your computer for updates and such. The bike hookup will charge the unit; the cable to connect to the computer will not. It is a data cable, one wire short inside and will not charge. I used an old cable from a previous phone, standard usb to mini usb, and it works fine for data and it charges. I also use this cable to charge the unit if I have the Zumo in a different vehicle, usually on a "Bean Bag" mount.
I think this is Garmin's way of tricking people into buying a charger.
I have a habit of keeping old chargers as well as old cables. They may come in handy!

I would wire it into the acc switch so it doesn't come on every time your turn the ign on. Thats how all mine are wired.

I have an open ACC switch. With what I have do I need anything more to hook this Garmin wiring harness too? I don't believe anything is used for my existing switch which is on the right side next to my cruise control......

You should be able to hook to accessory switch , I am not sure, I think the connector is under the seat in front of the ecm.

I just took the headlight out, used the exposed terminals from the headlight harness, ran the wire up to where the left handlebar wire comes out, and to my Garmin. No need to remove the nacelle. Works with IGN on or ACC.
