I looked through their facebook and didnt find anything for less than 300. But that an older model, it came with their version of an oil pump and a a different shaped tray. I guess this new more simple design is alot cheaper. Hell if they are only 120 I might give it a go.
That's correct, the older bikes require one that has a lot more parts.
First time ever a newer bike gets a part that's actually less expensive!
Hopefully your wife has no idea that you are whining about the problems of the motorcycle she bought you all over the internet....
I'd like to think about is bitching. I just never would have thought that my 17 year old road king would have been a much better designed bike. All i did to it was is fluid changes and tighten the **** that rattled loose.
PS: I should have let her pay for it before we merged out bank accounts. I see that payment leave the account my paycheck also goes into every month.
So I talked to gmr. The price, that he hopes to be asking, is 129 for the tray, 199 for the tray and washer.
They dont have any in stock as of now, expecting a shipment in 2-3 weeks. He does not know how many pieces will come in that order. If you call he will put you on his list and call you when there are units available. He was super informative, talked to me for probably 15 min about the research and testing.
Personally I think the wear is accelerated by low rpm riding and pulling taller gears.
I beat my '10 for 30k plus miles, and the comp was in great shape when I sold it. My other two buddies have had similar experiences. We all ride pretty hard in the higher rpm ranges. I never cruise below 2500.
Our other buddy has had a couple comps in his '13 in 12k miles. He rides it like it's a diesel, short shifting and using low rpms. He likes to feel the torque, as opposed to higher rpm power.
YMMV, this is my opinion only judging by how my friends and I ride.
After reading awhile on the comp issues, there may be merit to this theory.
I just took my Hayden M6 adjuster out of my 2013 Road Glide Ultra, why you ask? Everything sounded normal for about 3K-4K miles , then a loud whine appeared and then it was a howling sound that was just unbelievable. The chain links had worn down into the poly block ( or whatever it is) then the chain rollers started digging into the block. I e-mailed Hayden about this, I guess they won't stand up to their product. I have their adjuster in two Dynas and never had this problem. The stock HD adjuster went back in. PM me your e-mail address and I'll send you the pictures of my M6. I think the problem is 103" related.

My Hayden wore half through in about 6 months. I have the OEM back in now.
