$25 I can manage - refuse to blow $150+ for the other smoked tail lenses available out here. Fitment chart says I'm good to go. My question though is what do you do for the bulb? Being clear I'd think you'd need a red bulb? Have to upgrade to a red LED assembly? I can tell you on the stock lens that the bulb assembly screws into the lens and does not stay on the bike the way older Harley's are. Can't seem to find any details on the web site on what needs to happen with the bulb in this case...
Could there be some sort of red lens embedded inside of there where ya still use a clear lamp? Obviously if ya put in a red lamp (if they're even available) then the clear license platewindow would illuminate the plate in red as well, and that don't seem right? Here's a much larger image from the web site - it doesn't look like it, but I dunno:
I put that on my 04 RK Custom... I went to a local truck stop... and I'd imagine an Auto Parts store would have them also...and bought a red rubber cover that fit over my existing bulb... worked great.
I just put an LED red taillight in (bought the same smoke laydown taillight). I had left the clear on in for a bit, until I learned it was illegal in AZ. What really made me change it though was one day my wife was following me in her truck and couldn't tell when I hit the brakes. $16 later, it was much more visible and red!
I bought the smoked tail light of ebay as well. Put in a sylvania red bulb and it melted the lens. (I mentioned this in another post). Figuring the lens was wasted I drilled out a hole and screwed in a red die (I am a craps dealer). Went to autozone and bought two led bulbs for 15 bucks, and it lights up nice and bright. I was just going to throw the lens away and buy one of those 90 dollar LED deals on ebay. Much cheaper setup now, and original.
