Default What Tuner?

Got a 2013 Street Glide. Just ordered S&S black power tune duals and Rinehart 4" slip ons. Pretty excited been rolling stock pipes far too long.

What is everyone doing tuning wise. I am between a Power Vision from Fuel Moto and letting the harley dealer do it. Pros / cons either way.

On another note looking at figure machine A/C. Any feedback on quality?

I just ordered the Vance & Hines FP3. Super small unit that you tune with your phone via bluetooth. Haven't received it yet so no review here, but for ease of use, it sounds like this one takes the win.

the tuner thing depends on how deep you want to get into it.

many of us use nightrider.com xieds/vieds.

plug them in and done for about $130- all they will do is make the mixture a little richer under most riding conditions- the rev limit and ignition timing is not affected.

some of the piggyback tuners like the power commander or V&H require you get settings from them and maybe have to adjust to work best- this means you have an education in motors coming

let the dealer do it and maybe it works great, maybe not...and maybe you need to pay them again and again to dial it in ( this is how riders spend $2000+ on a stage 1)

just about all the aftermarket hiflow air cleaners will flow more air than the motor can demand.
so you can base your decision on looks or cost- the results will be equal.

i use a ness big sucker ( chrome version) under the stock cover- about $130 on ebay from easternpc.

the advantages are:
stock cover hides the servo plug and wiring on the throttle body
easy install, tank and throttle body brace stay in place
reusable, washable, oiled filter media
leg clearance

I'm cheap- like many other riders here my stage 1 cost me under $400.

If you're not a hands on guy and don't want to be, probably better to let someone else do it.

If you know an independent mechanic let them do it and you watch and help so you will understand how it sets up.

The tuner thing/recommendation is debateable.
Most on here will say a "flash" tuner like the PV.

However I and many others still use the PC-V which BTW is still made for the 14's.

So really it's your call in that dept.
Don't be swayed or sold by any one.
Read and make up your own mind.

The best advice I can give is to use the product the person doing the tuning is most comfortable working with, that you can get the best support on, and choosing a product with the features required to tune the combination you are working with as well as supporting any future mods you may do down the road. If you have any specific questions you are more than welcome to contact us and we are here to help, we also offer unlimited tuning support for Fuel Moto customers.

Would u recommend the power vision auto tune with wide band adapter kit if I went that route? I was planning on ordering from you if I went that route. Wanted to look at install of all that. Planned on maybe a cam in future. Mainly want it sound good and run good.

I would recommend Dynojet Power Vision, with your combination you would not generally need the Auto Tune Pro kit as we would have a good base map for you. You could also use the included Auto Tune Basic application to further enhance the tune using your factory O2 sensors. If you replace the cam down the road we have maps for quite a few different cams as well, the more elaborate your engine mods get the more useful the Auto Tune Pro Kit is which can be added at any time. It looks like you are in Wisconsin, we are about 2 hours from New Berlin so you are always welcome to stop by with any tuning requirements or assistance as well.

I went with the FuelMoto Micro EFI Tuner. Real easy and bike runs fantastic. Key here is easy, no dinking around. They supplied the tune, plug and play.

Fuel Moto has been outstanding on customer service to me. I stopped by there one evening on a trip just to see the place & Brian from their staff helped me with a minor issue. It was around 7:00 PM & actually closed.
No brainer from a customer service stand point.
