The crimp tool alone is about $200 if you buy the expensive one, or about $40 if you buy the cheaper tool. Even if you go with the cheap one, then factor in the cost of the pins, your time and frustration, and you're easily at 1/2 or more the cost of the labor and no warranty.

The cheap tool is here and yes it does work.

Thanks Ultra. I called up the parts dept asking about the updated gold pins and they said theres no such part, its a silver pin. ??? My tuner said he has the gold pins why wouldnt the dealer have them also?

only pins I ever got from the dealer were tin pins. I'm assuming your INDY probably gets them from some other supplier like Cycle Terminal

I did mine. Simple enough if you're careful. I was slow and took about two hours.

The connectors cost me $10 (cdn) for all 6.

To remove the connectors from the plug is the same procedure shown here:
I used a paper clip to release the connector from the plug housing.

I did mine one wire at a time to avoid mixing them up. I cut the connector off as close as possible, stripped the wire 1/4", crimped, then soldered (to be sure) the new connectors. After each one put it back into the plug.

Once the plug was done I took ultra fine wet/dry sandpaper and with a tiny screwdriver gently cleaned the pins. I took a Q-Tip and cleaned them with rubbing alcohol then applied dielectric grease. Slathered some more of the grease into the plug, plugged it in.

I haven't had an issue since. It's been 1500 miles.
