I finally got around to test riding a 15 Street Glide Special and a 15 Road Glide Special today. Me and a buddy test rode them and the Street Glide was both our top pick. Both bikes ran great. The only complaint was the clutch. It engaged on both bikes when the lever was almost completely released. I have always adjusted my clutches to release very close to the grip since I have smaller hands. Is this just the way it is on the new hydraulic clutches?

I did the same thing today. I noticed the exact same issue with the Muscle, but all the hydraulic clutches on the touring bikes seemed dialed in pretty well. I don't care for the suspensions/seats on the Street Glide or RGCs at all. I rode an Ultra and was blown away. For the slight difference in money, I'd buy the Ultra and remove the trunk.

I purchased my Street Glide a month ago. I think the clutch is just the way it is. I found the release to be abrupt at first, but I've gotten used to it and don't notice it anymore. After 1500 miles, the clutch pull seems to be easier and it releases more smoothly too.

Thanks for the info, it was just a completely different engagement feel than I was used to but from my understanding it never needs to be adjusted. Just change the primary fluid and ride on.

That's right, no clutch adjustment is needed. Primary fluid change and keep a check on the fluid level in the clutch master cylinder.
The difference between the hydraulic clutch and mechanical ones to me is that there is no "sweet spot" with the hydraulic. It's very binary, it's on or it's off. That said it didn't take long at all to get used to the hydraulic on my sgs.
