I will most likely add an A/C & tuner to complete the stg 1! I can do the de-cat for all but free & pipes are going to run me just under $500! What do you all think is there a performance edge to the aftermarket pipes at this level!
Thanks

Personally, I went with Jackpot S/S headers that are ceramic lined.... But you could also buy a 2008 stock header which doesn't have the Cat.... I saw them on EBay for around $125....

I was going to decat my stock pipes with the ebay deals but ended up spending the money on a good header. I don't notice any heat on my leg anymore and I live in the desert with summer riding in triple digit temps. I think everyone needs to get rid of their cat IMO. Better on the heat on the legs, better performance, and better sound. Definitely worth spending $400 on a header with a good tuner IMO. Best thing I have done to my bike so far! Don't know what the performance gain is with a decatted stock header vs. going with the S&S power tune dual 2-1-2 header I have but I get great performance with my header and I'm very happy with my FP3 tuner. I saw a post earlier that you can get 1.8 more HP going with a header and I don't know how that translates to feeling it in the seat. I just thought, save up a little more money and do it right the first time instead of wanting to upgrade again later.
