So I went out to start my 2001 fuel injected Electraglide this past weekend and it would not stay running more than about 3seconds. When I parked it 3 weeks ago it was fine. I checked the spark and that appears healthy. After researching a few you tube videos I held the odometer reset while turning ignition on and checked all 10 channels came up clear. My gut instinct tells me it is a fuel problem. I can hear the fuel pump run when turning the key to on. Does any one have any suggestions on how to diagnose the ECM or EFI sytem to figure out the problem? Is there a hand held diagnostic tool made for this bike that may help me? Thanks in advance any thing will help........Brad
Check the tilt sensor on the left hand side under the cover. If it thinks the bike is on its side it won't run but for a few seconds. You can disconnect it and try running the bike without it. You'll get a check engine light but it'll still run.
Then you get to go to Harley and give them $65 for a new one...
I Took cap off and turned ignition on and off did not here sloshing in tank. When switched heard fuel pump go on and pump up and when switch off heard what sounds like pressure being released.
I found nothing in my service manual relating to a tilt sensor. I found that the Bank angle sensor is tied into the turn signal security system, but when I disconnected That it disabled the starter.
Are there any other Ideas out there that may help me figure this out? Thanks in advance......Brad

It was the bank angle sensor I was referring to. On my 2000 the starter still functioned. You can bypass the bank sensor by grounding the green/gray wire to the black ground wire (or to the frame.) That should accomplish the same result (or at least eliminate that one possibility.) Good luck.
