Don't think it'll do any harm, do not use an air compressor or service station air hose, to much pressure. Get a hand air pump, HD or Progressive .

Check the valve stem core and see if its loose then see if it holds air. Mine was loosing air right after I bought it new. Checked the valve and sure enough it was loose. Add some air and check the pressure on the rear tires. Don't put the recommended tire pressure that Harley uses. Go a couple of pounds under and test the ride.

My FreeWheeler had zero air in the system when I bought it from the dealer. I rode it for a while before buying the H-D hand pump. Could not use any other method to pump up the shocks.

Default No Air... again

This will be the 3rd time I've had to have the air shocks fixed... both other issues I've had hose/line issues. THis is getting ridiculous.

That's not a good sign. Take it in for sure.

Do what many have done: 1. Order real shocks from DK or Progressive. 2. Remove crappy factory shocks and throw in trash, use for boat anchor, target practice, etc.

3. Install good shocks, adjust and enjoy!

I just discovered the exact same issue. What did you wind up doing?
