Just back from a 1900 miles trip, had a good time. The trike started making a terrible noise emanating from the front forks, tire, trees....somewhere!
I hear a rubbing noise or something like that, sounds like a 18 wheeler tire on the interstate. Also making a clunking, clacking noise...especially when making a right hand turn.
Service said my discription sounds like a wheel bearing....they will start in the morning....trike only has 8000 miles on it. I've never had a wheel bearing go bad with this few miles....
My cousins '15 Tri-Glide is also in the shop after we took a trip to SC.
His has about 12,000 miles on it and they say it's the pressure pump (water pump I assume).
I've in my 48th years of riding and I honestly don't know how many bikes I've owned through the years but I've YET to replace a wheel bearing in any of them.
Seems this issue began with the frame/axle change in the '09 model year.

Many moons ago when on a trip through the Great North West I got a rattling sound from my front end along with a few other sounds. Stopped at Coos Bay Harley. Seems the front motor mount bolts and backed out. Bottom one and spacer were gone, top was just barely hanging on. GREAT service department. Scavenged the bolts and spacer from a totaled trike and had me back on the road in 30 minutes..... anyway, look at that front motor mount..... also have never seen a wheel bearing go out
I did look at the motor mounts, fist thing that came to mind, nope all good. Shook the front end and all seamed good...beats me. I to have never had a wheel bearing fail...interesting to find what they say is wrong, but something ain't right.
Isn't there a wheel brg. that isn't out of China? I would think price wise you could beat the MOCO brg. by shopping at a bearing house & get something other than China.
Update****
Picked up the TG today from the shop. The wheel bearings did in fact fail in the front. Replaced under warranty so all is good now. The tech didn't say why, just that they failed and replaced. 8100 miles...strange but it happens I guess...
