Default Trunk lock

While putting the new parts on this weekend I noticed my trunk lock was coming out. Actually I was very lucky because it appeared one more bump and it was gone.
Anyway, what a pain in the azz getting it back in.
You can't see anything so it has to be done blind and in reverse. The clip that is supposed to keep it on only goes in one very small way.
Just bitchen..

You are correct, that clip is a PITA. I used a mirror put inside the trunk to see what I was doing, of course all of my movements were backwards because of the mirror. I partially installed the clip, then sent it home once the lock was installed. Used a picture frame wood clamp to hold the lock in while pushing the clip in.

Three hands would have been useful.

I had the same thing happen to me. I had to buy the new lock sleeve and then tried to get the clip in to hold it. I actually had to go to the dealer and buy a new clip because I bent the old one beyond bringing it back to normal. They had two left and I bought both. I could not believe they were $6.00 a piece!
The good thing was that as soon as I tried the new one, it slipped right in. Not sure if the past few hours of trying to get it right paid off or the new one is what I needed for success.
