All of you know there is a pro for every con out there. We all just state our experiences with various products and let each reader decide if they like it or not. I did a lot of research back when I was looking for a fan and turned against the HD due to mounting failure issues some folks had reported and just the overall size of the fan itself. I went with the LeNale because of the neatness of the installation and you could even get one with the horn built-in. I installed it and was very disapointed with the performance and did not think it performed anywhere close to as-advertised. I could not tell any difference and the airflow was virtually meaningless as all it did was blow some air between the cylinders. I thought it may have something wrong with it and Leonard actually took it back to test it. He reported it was working perfectly, but did agree to refund my money, which I accepted.
You can go find posts concerning this fan, both good and bad. It has to do "some" good. I just came to the opinion that it did not do as much good as I had been lead to believe. I am totally satisfied with the service I received from Leonard, as he agreed to buy it back. The HD fan is a far superior fan to the LeNale in terms of airflow generated...it can be a bit "ugly", but that too is in the eye of the beholder.
If I were going to do anything with fans, I would choose the ones that bolt directly to the oil cooler as this mimics the way radiators are cooled on water-cooled engines.
I try not to knock another mans product and some people swear by the LeNale. Others will tell you it is a joke and I come down on the joke side of the opinion. A leaf-blower it is not!
[quote=Boom;5574413]I'd like to see a reply on this also. H-D doesn't seem to like the fan as a choice for the TG -- http://www.harley-davidson.com/gma/g...bmLocale=en_US
I like the idea of a thermistatically-controlled fan. I don't want to be bothered by another switch.
When I ordered mine i was told it wasn't listed for the trike. I still ordered it and will make it work when I get the trike. It also wasn't listed for my 06 street glide when I bought it- but I made it fit. I do have lots of fab equipment though.

62hdbiker, I dont know for sure but Im almost willing to bet that you wont have to have to do any fabricating to install the Harley Parade Fan on your TG!
I have installed a ton of Harley parts on my 09 TG that both the parts book and the web-site specifically said would not fit the TG! I have now decided that if fit the front half of an 09 Ultra Classic it most likely will fit on my TG; regardless what the book says!

Good luck with your new bike!
Jimer, The HD dealer thinks the steering damper may interfere with where the horn relocation kit is intended, but there are other options that have been suggested, (inside upper fairing). They will let me know wed. when they get the fan kit in & see what they have.

I put the fan on my 2004 w/sidecar, mainly because an oil cooler can't be used. The horn relocation was inside the fairing. My only complaint is it seems to "rattle" a little. Can't seem to pinpoint what or where it rattles, but if I put the side of my leg against it stops. When I brought the bike up to have the stage 1 tune done, I mentioned the rattle to one of the guys in the shop and he said, "they all do that."
The mounts are held with nyloc screws, one of them came loose, so I used blue loctite on all of them.
I just completed installing my LeNale Fan this evening and only had a chance to ride about five (5) miles with it but here are my early impressions.
1) LeNale shipped promptly and I received in 3 days, just as they promised!
2) I was disappointed as soon as I opened the box; the actual fan appears to be smaller than the picture but I have no way of knowing for sure!
3) The picture showed two side protrusions which I assumed to be additional discharge ports to direct air on the left side of the cylinders; while the main body of air came from the center of the fan and was directed between the two cylinders! My assumption was incorrect! The two side protrusions have no functional purpose that I can determine! They certainly do not function as I assumed!
4) The advertisement stated that you could install the LeNale Fan in 15 min; this is probably true; however, I have an air horn instead of the stock Harley horn; therefore, it took me considerably longer to find a suitable spot to mount the air horn! After that the rest of the installation was straight and as stated in the directions!
5) The advertisement stated that it blows at 130mph velocity; I have no way of determining the exact velocity but it does generate a strong stream of air between the cylinders and certainly sounds strong to my ear!
6) I only rode about 5 miles after installing the LeNale Fan and my oil temp reached 207. degrees. The outside temp was about 110 degrees and I would estimate that my average speed was about 15 mph.
7) My fear is (and its too early to tell because of the limited experience with the LeNale Fan) that this or any other fan will simply blow the already hot outside air across the hot cylinders and burn my right leg. As I stated, too early to tell until I put some more stop and go city miles on!

AZBob, I just installed a LeNale Fan which came with a rubber “U” bracket which raps around the left front rail. Because I have an air horn instead of the stock Harley horn, I had to improvise a little and mount the horn low and **** it the horn so that it did not interfere with the front fender, the left front brake line or the sliding vent on the lowers. The steering damper was not an issue because the horn is mounted well below that!
IMO; my horn is now louder than it was when mounted on the side of the engine!
I’ll try to snap a couple of pictures tomorrow.

Thanks Jimer, I would like to see how the horn looks now that you've relocated it. It may help the HD teck some when he mounts my fan. I appreciate your time!
HD used to sell ( 2 years ago ) an auxiliary horn that goes under the fairing. I had one on my 06 Ultra and I have one on my TG. Both are actuated with my horn button.
oldmsocko, Could you possibly find the HD part # and the year for that auxiliary horn that you mounted under the fairing on your TG. I looked in the 2010 acc. cat. & could'nt find it. Any further info would be appreciated. Thanks.

Not a problem Bob; anything for an almost neighbor!
Here are the pictures of my horn relocation project. Remember, this an air horn so I suspect that the stock Harley horn relocation will be a little easier to mount.
