Here are the pictures of my horn relocation project. Remember, this an air horn so I suspect that the stock Harley horn relocation will be a little easier to mount.

Jimer, Yes I wish we did live closer. you've really done some neat things to your TG. Will you be able to change the oil filter without removing the relocated horn? Also I noticed on your night time light photo's you've got the angled extensions for your highway pegs coming off the engine guard, are those the long or short one's? The Hd p&a cat. shows two different lengths. The TG will be my girlfriend's & she is 5' 4". I have a 06 SE Ultra & am long legged enough that my highway pegs fit good just off the engine guard without the angled pull backs. Thanks, Bob...

Bob, the horn will not interfere with the removal of the oil filter. The horn is located below the filter and outside of the frame rail between the frame rail and the front fender.

The Footpegs I am using are Harley’s “Airfoil Custom Footpegs”; P/N50133-95 Large, there is also a Small and Oversize Peg. I am also using a 360 degree Adjustable Highway Mounting Kit; P/N50832-07A.

Additionally, I installed a Floor Board Extension kit which extends the floor board away from the engine by another inch. I rest my heel on the floor boards and my toes on the foot pegs. Not only is this a comfortable position for me to ride in but it is also a little cooler on my legs!

Bob, here are some daytime photos that have a better view of the pegs and floor boards.

When I brought the bike up to have the stage 1 tune done, I mentioned the rattle to one of the guys in the shop and he said, "they all do that."
The mounts are held with nyloc screws, one of them came loose, so I used blue loctite on all of them.
They don't all rattle. I put one on my 06 FLHX and one on my 97 FLSTC a few years ago and both are running strong and QUIET.

The Jimer,

How long have you had the horn mounted there? Have you hit any big bumps yet? I had an oil cooler mounted in that location on a Road King, granted it did not have a raked front end, but I hit a good bump and the fender hit the oil cooler when the fork sliders had to completely go in for the bump.

Ted, I just mounted the air horn and have only logged about 25 miles since doing so. However, I have a Jagg 10 row horizontal oil cooler mounted below the horn and have logged about 4k miles with no problems or damage to the cooler!

The setup under his fairing is a bastard child as will the one I'm going to install on my Triglide. Last year when I discovered that HD discontinued the high output horn I dug through the instructions from one of the kits installed on either my 06 Ultra or my dads 06 Ultra. I was able to come up with the harness and the relay then I pulled my outer fairing off and took down the info that was on the horn and located it by googling it. Not sure if the harness or relay are still available or not.

To answer azbob09's question a bit more on the HD fairing horn. The Harley part number for the harness and relay is 71093-01 which I believe is still available. The horn that I used is this one.http://www.autohausaz.com/search/pro...er=61331374440

azbob09: If you are going to install the horn, PM me and I will scan the instructions and send them to you.

oldmsocko, Thanks to you & msocko for your time & help with this. The dealer is suppose to call me today, they thought they would have the fan kit in today, as I had asked them to call me after they had a chance to look over what they had before they started installation with it. They admitted they had never installed one on a TG. I had already discussed some of the options I had learned from you folks here on the HDForum with them. After I talk over the options & their recomendations with them I may ask you to send those instructions. Thanks again & I'll let you know what the final outcome was.

I'm looking for a way to cool my '09 TriGlide and like the idea of directly cooling the oil cooler. Any suggestions on which ones to buy? TIA.
