i have an 07 ultra with a motor trike kit and 103 upgrade with 255 cams and supertuner
haven't noticed any problems with fuel and most of it is 91 octane. eastern Okla hope this helps
Coupe, I hear what you are saying about small increments! I think that I just about exhausted all of the small interments and wish that someone on this board would be the genie pig and do the Baker Fan and 255 cam. However, I am a little leery of the cam because here in the great southwest, the highest octane available without going to Avgas is 91 octane ethanol and Im afraid that I might fix one problem and cause another!
Jim: I thought early on back someone did go with the 255 cams. Possibly they don't post anymore.

Thanks for the post, I appreciate that. How about pinging with the cam on 91 octane? And what kind of temps do experience in eastern Okalahoma?
temps?? can get 100+ but i usually don't ride when it gets that hot. haven't noticed any pinging have rode in the 90s sometime i have to use ethanol haven't noticed any pinging with it either.
I went back and looked and Tririder put 255 cams in his 09 TG. It was posted on 05/18/09
Once you do the Jagg 10 Row, the Fan, that is the only real fix beyond that and necessary for us 2010 guys to get our power back also. I will also try to get mine in somewhere this winter for the 255's. I am going to check around for the best tuner after!
Mid 70's today and the Tri was a joy to ride, well except for the hills. It is still underpowered but run cool all day as it was somewhere in the mid 70's. I went to a festival in a local town and spent quite a bit of time at idle speed at light's. The ambient air never got above 85-90 and went back down to around 75-80 after I got back on the road. I ran the Lenale fan as soon as I hit the first light and the heat was not a factor today.
If I can just get it doing this in July and August I'll quit crying about it. I feel when the cat material comes out of that Pipe I've got it under contol.

I was unable to locate Tririders 05/18/09 post; however, I did find two of his post in the Touring section dated 01/29/09. They really werent very helpful; he states that he is very happy with the added power and lack of lugging going up hills since he had the 255 cams installed but he does not mention the heat issue at all.
My 2009 TG does not suffer from lack of power! The only reason Im considering the 255 cams is to help with the heat issue. No one will ever convince me that all this excess heat isnt doing long (long term = out of warranty) damage to my engine!
Ideally I will find someone that runs on 91 octane ethanol and rides in 100+ degree heat every day as I do and be able to gain the benefit of their experience!

I am not also adding the 255 cams because of lack of power. My problem is I am a power freak. After my 06 Ultra and riding Msocko3 06 Ultra you get spoiled. His 06 is an animal and I rode it the other day and it brought back memories.

With the 25 deg intake close and very little overlap on the 255's you won't gain any heat relief. I'm looking at the 255's mainly to satisfy warranty concerns and they bite hard on the bottem end right where these heavy beast need it. I'll see my heat relief by ditching the cat and tuning it with the SEST. My biggest concern which would be one you would have to deal with is the CCP from the early intake close. The CCP is 200+ which doesn't like crappy fuel and high heat. I'm figuring for as much as I ride out west I can dose with some octain booster to get me by. Where I live every station has 93 octain and 95% of them have no ethanol on the gas. If I was willing to chuck my warranty I'd be bolting in a set of Head Quarters HQ500 cams which would give me good low end, cooler engine temps and the CCP would be lower due to the later intake close.
