I sold my Fatbob about a year ago due to a bad left knee. About two months ago I finally couldn't stand it anymore and started shopping for a Tri-Glide. I thought that due to the economy I could get a deal but apparently not. I finally bought one yesterday evening for list and a $500 in store credit. Not the best deal I've heard of but since you can ride all year long here in the South it's probably the best I could do. That and the new Federal income tax credit incentive on vehicle sales made me push the button. If you haven't heard about it, here's a link. http://www.irs.gov/newsroom/article/...204519,00.html

I had heard about the Tax Incentive, one of the reasons I bought this year. Was not enough in and of itself to justify buying a car or a Harley but every little bit helps. I also have the Citi Bank drivers edge card, you get 2% points reward for every purchase, can be used on any new vehicle, car or motorcyle. I pay at the end of the month and don't carry anyover but buy about everything on this card. I got to have the stuff anyway and it gives me a check back from citi after I make my purchase.
I got $1300 back on my 03 and $1200 back on the Tri-Glide, I had already bought a truck a couple years ago and used some of my points.
The card started out years ago as 5% toward a new Ford and then they switched to 2% toward any model, including motorcycles.
FYI, my dealer did not even give me a T-Shirt and charged me MSRP!
Congratulations! Discount or no discount, the truly important think is that you are happy and comfortable with your decision! Enjoy your new ride and hope to see you post here often!
Thanks for all the encouragement.
I got a call from the sales manager this afternoon (they are open Sundays). He says he found one at another dealer that would swap with him & could be obtained this week. Only problem was it had already had some extras put on it & would cost about $2k more. He's supposed to get a list sent to him of the extras but knew it was Screaming Eagle slash down mufflers, AC, download, and tourpack rack but nothing more specific than that. I'm supposed to hear exactly what from him by Tuesday & let him know if I want it. Does this sound like a rip off or an okay deal? I value you guys opinions.

The local dealer is giving a $1000.00 gift card with any bike purchase by the end of this month. He has 3 trikes in stock. I don't think I could swing a new purchase in a few weeks. Would someone tell Santa I have been really good this year?
