To me my 2010 Triglide rides pretty soft compared to my 06 Ultra which has been lowered but then I haven't had multiple back surgeries. You should get your dealer to stop being so stingy and let you ride the trike farther than 5 miles.

On the Tri-Glde, you can get a pillow-style seat and you won't have to worry about your feet touching the ground (some fat seats hinder that). Also, you can lower rear tire and shock pressures to give smoother ride. And don't forget the backrest.
Good luck in your search!

I think mine rides fine but it is all a matter of preference and how much back trouble you have.

I'm also short, the stock seat fits me great. Others might need a different fit. My feet don't even hit the ground while sitting short in the saddle!

The only thing I can think of as far as your back is turning the trike in corners. Might bother your back some. Then again it may not. That's something only riding will determine

Before you spend 30,000, I would rent one. I know my dearler has two for rent. Don't know what he gets. But renting would be the way to go.

I couldn't agree with you more. If he can find one to rent that is the way to go.

i also have had back surgery and still bad. I put a back rest on my Road King/Hack and that along with a back brace/girdle that i still wear im pretty comfortable. i havent rode my wifes '10xxx a lot but it is an easier ride than my hack , wife is also fairley short so we put a HD reach seat on it, it gives a bit more lower back support and puts her a little more foward and lower.she is finds it much more comfortable to ride. ive not seen a xxx for rent, always the ultra
