I use this old style backrest (cheaper) as other TG owners have.... http://www.harley-davidson.com/gma/g...bmLocale=en_US
Notice it says "not for trikes". I had quite a discussion with a parts manager. He said it wouldn't fit. I said the TG has the same frame as the two-wheeled Ultra. I bought it, installed it with mount, and it's comfortable. The only issue is reaching into the seat cavity and squeezing the prongs together when you want to remove it.
Boom +1 on your post. Have one on each Trike the 09TG and the 10XXX work fine. Just a bit of a pain to get my hand in the seat cavity to squeeze the prongs.

It's like having to pull out a calf born breach!
Don't ask me how I know that!
That's the one I had on my '05 Road Glide. Very nice and easy to pull out the backrest. But since I didn't need the adjustability, I decided to save a hundred bucks and go with my present backrest.
BTW, with the cheaper style 52583-09A, it is MUCH easier to remove with the Road Zeppelin seat. This seat has a larger cavity to work with.
