after a while my family jewles seem to get crushed by the seat. this never happened on the soaftail i had so i am hopping someone here knows of a way to stop this. different seat, pad, whatever. after a hour or so it gets uncomfortable.
I hope you find an answer to this as it is a common problem, I have taken my seat apart and re-contoured it and it is better but still not great. I'm going on a bike trip the end of July and would like to have a more comfortable seat by then.
Is your tush identical to mine? Maybe but the best way to find a seat that will fit your tushy is to sit on it.
There are all kinds of great seat manufacturers out there. Allen with Mean City Cycles is a sponsor here and does a fantastic job of adjusting/modifying seats to fit. Finding just the right fit is harder than finding a windshield that works for every ride but is a "real" pain in the ****.
Do you take long rides? Then vinyl may not be for you unless you grab a handful of monkeybutt. Leather breaths and cools but is expensive for someone that doesn't travel the road. Do you like firm or soft? A good seat will retain it's firmness and not sag but a soft seat can sag so badly over time that you feel like you are sitting on a 4X4 frame on a long ride. The list goes on and on.....
Pricy but they seem to help with the butt pain and the monkey butt from the heat! Have in truck, have not tried on Trike yet but I can get another hour or so before stops in the truck, will try one on the trike....
HD Sundowner seat and sheepskin cover set works for me! Just finished a 1,464 mile trip to San Jose, CA and no problems sitting on the seat all day! Oh, and it was sweltering hot (100*+ the whole trip).

I am still using the stock seat ( the one I bought from you ) with a sheepskin for long rides and it works for me. The sheepskin keeps me and my bride from sweating. I had used the Sundowner on my Sportster and liked it. If I were to change my seat I would probably give the Sundowner a try.
also had a Sportster with a sundowner and after the first ride home with the trike, bought another sundowner for it. worked very well for both of us until the rally in Maggie Valley. We did a little over 3000 miles in 11 days down there and the wife did start to complain some. havent figured out what to do next, just doin some research. the sundowner is a good seat though.
