Default TriGlide Security System Behavior

My new TriGlide has the "factory" security system, plus I had the siren added. So, does anyone know what the conditions are that should set off the siren/alarm?

BTW, I also wanted to install the pager, but my dealer said it would not work on the TriGlide. Something to do with the tilt sensor being disabled.

Thanks for any insight.

Well, on mine, if the bike is in neutral and I turn the bike on, the alarm goes off. Turn ign to off, wait for security to reset, put in first, turn ign to on then start.

If in first, and I pull the clutch in before turning the ign on, the alarm will go off.

Has something to do with the tip sensor I think. The siren was a takeoff from my 2008 Ultra. Kind of useless I think. You could probably roll the trike away and the alarm would never go off. Guess it's handy if you don't lock the forks at a fuel or food stop.

I also have a pager from a previous bike. The lights work and it chirps; but, I have to agree with your dealer. I don't see how it would work without a tip sensor.

I thought HD was working on this issue but I guess not.

The pager with mine seems to work fine and my siren sure screams when I go and jack the trike up without the fob present.

I'll have to check mine out. Have you found it to be less sensitive then when installed on 2 wheels?

Pager works with mine but the battery life is like 3 days, horrid.

Plus what everyone said: Don't leave the trike in neutral, don't pull the clutch in until the security system arms itself.

Yes it is less sensitive. On my 06 Ultra I was able to adjust the sensitivity where as now you can't.

I wished we had a choice between the hands free FOB or the older one where you had to push the button to activate it. At least that one is adjustable for sensitivity.

I rolled my trike out of the garage and no siren. Guess it wasn't a steep enough slope to trip the sensor. Of course it could be due to that this was the smart siren I used on my 2008 Ultra.

Default Setting off the alarm

I was told to stop the trike in gear to set the alarm. When starting it back up, I turn on the ignition, turn on the kill button (not sure of the correct name - the one on the right grip) wait for the fuel pump to catch up, then put it in neutral and hit the starter. If I do not follow that routine, the alarm goes off. If it does, I go ahead and crank it, put it back in gear, then shut it down and start the whole process over. It takes all of about 10 seconds.

I tried to start it without the fob present (forgot it was in the house, not in my pocket) and the alarm went crazy. It did not stop until I retrieved the fob from the house and reset the system.

Today we went for a short ride to the Callaway Gardens Country Store for breakfast. When we came back out, I went through the start up routine and - - - nothing. Gauges all worked, no sound from the engine. The first thought was "crap, I'm 25 miles from home and something is wrong.". As I started to dismount the system reset. I went through the startup routine and she fired right up. The only thing I can think of is maybe someone pulled the clutch in messing with it while I was eating. That puts the system in the alarm mode.

I have a 2012 Trike and put the proper siren on for the trikes and it acts just like it should. I don't have to follow any special sequence for starting. As long as the fob is there all I do is turn the switch on and start up. It doesn't have to be in gear, but it can be, or wait for the fuel pump, or hold my left foot at a 45* angle while my right eye is half way closed, or pull in the clutch. I do that anyway out of habit. The clutch that is........
There is a siren put out just for the trikes that is different someway, I don't know what the number is, but it is different than the two wheel siren.
And by the way I checked out the turn cancel, and it works both left and right. I can stop at a light then make a turn, and before I shift it canceled. I can sit at a light for quite a while before it quits. So if there is no turn sensor (lean sensor) I don't know what does it, but all I know it works just like my Heritage I just traded in. I just can't sit in one spot and lean the bike back and fourth and do the cancel. The number on the box is :

H-68328-06ADŽ Security System Smart Siren II

Well I bought the most recent siren the dealer had in stock, swapped my old one for the new one. Still has to be in gear before you turn the switch. Even had the dealer do a search for H-68328-06AD. He couldn't find it. How long have you had it?
