got a wrirring primary seems to stop when you pull the clutch in. I plan to check the compensator on the weekend (and use the right loctite, my error) for the correct torque, as well as the compensator spring but just want to know if theres anything else to look out for?
Ive heard the inner primary bearing will also make a wrirring noise but Im unsure on how to correctly diagnose or identify this?
as well as that I just want to know what else to look out for when Im in there..
Some of the years back then for the issue with the inner primary bearing were alignment issues brought on by the mothership failing to dowel the cover.
Google search will pin point it. If you have had it apart, maybe going back together affected alignment. With out dowels, covers need support as you snug up and then torque the pattern properly.

This only became a problem on the 6 speeds.. The 5 speed tranny did not have this issue..
It could be the inner primary bearing but I've also managed to blow the mainshaft bearing in the trap door.. Makes the same noise. Also the inner primary bearing race can walk into the main drive gear. Another is issue can be the needle bearings inside the main drive gear walk.
im going to have to say the. Its unlikely to be the IPB as the noise is there in gear or without, again its very subtle. This leans me to believe its a too tight chain of or comp nut

i think it must be, I torqued it a few weeks ago but admittedly didnt have the step tool and used a rag, and also used blue loctite, now got the locking tool and the red loctite so will open her up on Sunday nd see
