I had a bike coming up on me last night, noticed the apes in my mirror but something seemed amiss. It went by me and it was a v rod. I think they were about 14 inchers and I kinda like them on this bike. Have you vrod guys seen this before and whatcha think?
I have an '06 Street Rod. After age and arthritis wouldn't let me ride it anymore, it sat parked in the garage gathering dust along with my Buells. A quick ride on my then girlfriend's(now wife) Wide Glide convinced me to convert the Street Rod to apes and forward controls. I know it's sacrilege, however, I now have a fast, great handling bike that I can actually ride all day.

Well, if your a brave man, you could go ahead and ask this question on 1130cc.com That is pretty much the epicenter of VROD knowledge. I can tell you before you do, you will get lambasted buy pretty much everyone. They are so uptight and sanctamonius about these motorcycles that the very idea of ape hangers is nothing short of inconceivable to them. On the other hand, I personally feel almost ANY motorcycle can benefit from taller handlebars, but that's just me. I have seen VRODs with apes. Some looked decent, some not so much. I will say this, and let it go. I wouldn't let ANYONE ELSES opinion deter my handlebar selection.
