Does my 2003 VROD have a neutral safety switch as I inadvertently pushed the start button with the key on and the bike jumped like it was fixing to start luckily it didn't and I didn't have the clutch depressed.... Hmmmm just wondering Thanx Risky
Evidently yours does not.. as most Harleys don't ( Harley are not like a Jap bike).... Now you have learned a lesson.. Never leave you bike in gear when parked.... or never hit the start button if it is.....
Welcome to the Forum and I wish you a safe riding season.. from an old Hoosier.

Nope no neutral safety switch, you need to look for the "GREEN N" light before hitting the starter. They began using a clutch lever safety switch in 2007
There's no clutch interlock switch on an 03 HD that isn't an International model.
Clutch in on every start, even when the light says it's in neutral. Once the motor is running hold one of the brakes and slowly let the clutch out. That way if it is in gear despite the light you won't be surprised.
