Default Street or Night Rod mmmmmmm ?

I am thinking about getting a rod that handles as well or better than my Fat bob. It needs to have mid controls&nbsp\\; so....
&nbsp\\;
What are the opinions on the street rod compared to the Night rod going round the twisties ?
&nbsp\\;
All opinions would be appreciated.
&nbsp\\;
Thanks

The R has a better lean angle. The D has highway pegs. The R is taller. The D more comfortable. Both are more nimble than they have a right to be.
I'll behave and not tell you what I do to Dynas when the road gets twisted, even with my wife on the back.

The Street Rod is the best/Fastest stock twisties bike Harley has ever made, nothing else HD comes close to the lean angle.

The Night Rod handles well on the twisties, but is a better straight line bike.

If I were buying used I'd go with the Street Rod, if I could afford a new bike, I'd get the 2008 nightrod.

I have an R and it took a lot of getting used to. A lot of people complain about the stock seat (which does suck) and it is really tall, so if you are short, you may have problems with it.&nbsp\\; Now that I am used to the forward lean I love the bike.&nbsp\\; For twisties it is sweeet, it has a great lean.&nbsp\\; Since they only made Rs for 2 years, there are also a lot less of them out there, which is always nice.&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\; I never rode an X.&nbsp\\; They are great looking bikes tho.

Hi from Germany. As an owner of a 2008 VRSCDX I would say, get a Street Rod. On twisty roads the R handles much better than the D/X. My X with its fat back tyre is definitely a tool for the straight line. Apart from this you will have to adapt to the high revs of a Rod in comparison to a Dyna.

...the D's handle much better than the DX.

the mids+ the 180 tire, it's a whole other thing.

I just rode a Fat Bob and found its handling to be very good despite its forward pegs (mid peg version would be even better). Not as good as my R but still plenty inspiring. Loved the low down torque much different than the high revving Vrod evolution engine. Exhaust note nice too even with stock exhaust.
