V Rod exhaust

Just bought An 03 with Screaming Eagles. Not loud enough. I miss the traditional Harley sound. I like a deep sounding exhaust. I also like chrome. Looking for options.

I used Vance & Hines on my vrod. I have the competition series 2-1. I really like the sound of this system. It nice beefy growl to it and it is pretty loud. Really loud at WOT. Mine is black but you can get them chrome to. They are a little pricey. You can also go with supertrapp, BUB 7. There are several good vrod systems. You can even do a V-mod setup to the pipes you have. That is were you remove the baffle from inside your stock system to make them louder. You can go to v-mod.com and they may have something for you on there.

You will never get the "traditional sound" from a V-rod. It's like trying to get a porsche to sound like a VW beetle.

True the vrod doesn't sound like an air-cooled 45 degree V-Twin. I like the sound better myself after I have heard it awhile.

"V-modding" your stock pipes will improve the sound, somewhat. If you really want to rumble, look at Thunderheaders.

D7D slip ons

I have a set of D&D slip ons on my bike now till I get a tuner any way for my V-Modded power line, here's a good sound clip of it...nice tone at idle and cruise and really barks when you pin your ears back.
