Default VRSC RIDERS converted from?

Well, Struck a nerve this weekend after seeing a 2009 Black Muscle VRSC with only 1600 miles & dual V&H Comp pipes.....for $12,000.00 at a dealer .
Wow, I was on the fence to taking it.Wasn't sure if the price was good but Super Clean, Great looking bike.

Called back today to ask Questions, as with my luck .... it was sold and delivered the same day I was looking at it! HA!

Anything you VRSC owners can share on your experiences with the bike?

....other than testing riding.... which honestly Im not sure if that would sell me on a mile ride out. As coming from the dyna and Softail family... I guess the question would be what type a riding is best suited for the VRSC,

Harley claims its great for both city, or crossing the state line.??

I'm having A Mid Bike crisis!!! LOL

I have a 94 softail an rarely ride it since I got my v rod. It's just quicker, smoother, an faster overall than the ST. Mine is an 02. I didn't like the bars an riding position when I got it. But a set of off set peg mounts, different shaped bars an a seat to move me up a little an I can ride for hours, cruise at 75 comfortably too. Plus you're not one of the 112 baggers in every parking lot.

I am currently riding my 12 NRS. Great road handling and tracking. It is firm but not harsh. I'm 6'3" and 220 and the NRS is very comfortable on a long ride of usually 120 to 180 miles. I do understand there was a change in the seat and handle bars for 2012 that improved riding comfort.

Cornering is excellent also. I am blessed to have all of the HD families of bikes from CVO's to Sportsters. That is why I said currently riding. I go 2K with one then switch to another. It takes all year to go through 12 bikes like that.

The two best for all around enjoyment are the VRod and the Sportster XR1200. Which by the way will hang right with the VRod through the gears.

At 73 I am one of the older Vrod riders but when I'm on the bike, I feel like 19 again.

I've had several Buells, couple sportys, a Dyna and a softail Blackline, I would have to say my 2013 Vrod muscle is the best bike of them all, smooth, powerful, comfortable, probably last bike I'll own....

I just got a used 2010 VRSCAW to complement my 2007 Ultra Classic Electra-glide. I used to own a FXDX Superglide Sport, which I sold because my wife (then girlfriend) wanted me to get a touring rig. I missed the sporting ability of the FXDX, and wanted something I could ride hard on twisty mountain roads. The XR1200 would probably have been a better tool for that job, but I decided a while back that I want a bike with water cooling and ABS (Getting in and out of Seoul in the summertime on an air-cooled bike is a bitch).

Long story short, the more I ride the V-rod, the more I like it. It handles the curves better than I expected. The feet forward riding position is okay for around town, but makes my legs tired out on the road. I think mid-controls (matched with highway pegs) would be more comfortable for the long haul. The handlebars are in a comfortable, natural position for me. Steering lock is limited, so U-turns are pretty wide. My Ultra is a lot more maneuverable in this respect.

In the twisties, the bike seems to like to "fall in" to the turns. staying on the gas helps stabilize things and it's no big deal once you get used to it.

Over all it's a fun bike -- but a big change from any other Harley.

All it takes is one ride in the muscle and you'll forget everything else about everything else!!

It's a ultra smooth running motor and very well put together.

Yep, the test ride is what made my decision to go with the VRSCF. I came from a 2004 BMW R1150R. The Vrod is more comfortable and faster. Put on some aftermarket pipes and you get character and attitude. Bike sounds like a big block Chey V8.

Just picked up a 2013 vrod muscle with 2k miles. Traded in my 2008 Honda cbr 1000rr sport bike. Forgot how much I missed the ride experience you get with a cruiser but with the vrod, you still have amazing power :-D

I came to VRSC from Kawasaki. I have talked to many VRSC riders that have come from Japanese Rocket bikes. My belief is that is where there generally come from once they realize that street racing is not conducive to the "Live to Ride" motto. It is easy to go fast... but true performance riding comes from surviving the street and that isn't easy to do when it is mixed with the crazy cell phone talking, lip-stick smearing, cagers! LOL

I've been riding since I was 12 years old. (that's 52 year ago) So I've owned a lot of bikes.
My "last few" A Dyna, Fatboy, Deuce, V-Rod, C14 Kawasaki, another Dyna, and now my Muscle (V-rod)
After having BRAKES and POWER it was hard to ride the Dyna again.
My V rod Muscle is far more comfortable for long distance than the Dyna, smoother, faster and eats miles. It also handles better both in city and HWY riding. I do have a "lift" on my Muscle bars as they were a little too low.
After owning the first V rod, I missed the balanced ride of the VRod.

Of my two Dynas, one had forward controls and the last was mids.

V rods feel quicker side to side than the Dyna and the balance shaft engine makes the ride far smoother.
Hope that helps....

I might add I was considering a Moto Guzzi Grisio until I looked at their dealer network. The best thing about owning any Harley is the dealer in every town aspect of ownership. You are never far from a dealer. I didn't buy the Muscle to be "part of the herd", but I like the dealer network.
