Hello, I used to be a member several years ago. After full hip replacement surgery, I could no longer mount or handle the weight of my bike. My bike at that time was a 2014 VRSCD VROD Night Rod Special. Although my bike was not excepted in my area (THAT'S NOT A HARLEY!) I would hear non-stop. However, there were a lot of people asking "What kind of bike is that". I live in a nice rural area in the Amish Country of Lancaster County, PA. Reluctantly, I sold the VROD and all of my equipment, thinking I'd never be able to ride again. In the spring, about 2 years ago, just hearing the roar of the engines, I couldn't take it anymore. I bought a 1999 Heritage Softail Classic with an EVO engine(80 CI). I didn't realize how slow it was going to be, especially coming from my VROD, which was very fast. As I get older and live in such a beautiful area. It slowed me down enough to really enjoy my surroundings and take it all in. The older Heritage was just what I need. I still have struggles handling the weight, but it is still worth it. I'm really not used to dealing with a Carb'd bike, and a bike without a gas gage, and no way to add an after-market one, just seems weird to me.
I really just wanted to say hi to my fellow riders, not my life story.
