Hello, new member been figuring things out from previous threads. Figured I'd get on here for real. Since I'm here I'll post the bike I've been putting together for a little while. I'm now at the point that I built the hell out of the bike and want to put some speakers in the lids. I'm wondering if there a kit that will plug right in but have an Amp in bags... the bike is a beast and with the pipes I have on there I can't hear my radio. I've heard put quieter pipes on but come on that's not gonna happen.

Welcome from Spartan Country, Michigan!
I tell a lot of new comers to the forum to get: Factory Service manual and the Parts manual. Take to an office supply store and have them put a spiral binder in place of the glued binder. That will let the manuals lay flat on your bench. Get a three ring binder and record all your maintenance, repairs, accessories, etc. This will be a great reminder of what was done when. And great material to pass along to the new owner should you sell and upgrade. Also know how large your fuel tank is, a rough idea of your range per tank, and record your fuel usage. I have an app called Simply Auto that I record all my fuel used. I use the odometer and use the fuel gage as reference only. I reset the odometer to zero on fill ups, and I know I can safely get 200 miles on a tank on around town riding, and upwards of 230+ on trips.

Welcome to the HDFORUM.

I hope you continue to enjoy your ride here to.

Only as a suggestion, by me as a USER, create a signature line similar to my one line on my bike information.

The year, model, and all the letters Harley assigned to the bike. It will appear at the bottom of your post.

Doing this will be helpful if you ask a question. All Harleys aren't the same with many changes and variations over the year.

Of course, you can always add it to any thread with a question.

You can also add any other details you choose and a favorite picture to the signature lines.

If you like, you can also add a favorite picture for an Avatar you see at the top left of all your posts as a postal stamp.

PS….. Questions in the Welcome Area is not the best area for visibility.

Questions would probably get more comments in the proper area using the dropdown menu title FORUMS at the top left on your screen.

Default My ride is a 1993 fxdwg anniversary made by Harley-Davidson in York Pennsylvania in November of 1992. It is a 1340 80 cubic inch that has only 18,000 miles original verified by the original owner. Going through its first upgrade.

Hello everyone I'm a 65 year old man that lives on the mountain top back behind Chattanooga Tennessee in a very remote location. It's a fat chance I've ever finding a mechanic up here on the mountain that works on Harleys. I have recently installed S&S super e carburetor with Andrews ev27 cam. Everything went well on installation. 10,000 of an inch and play on the camshaft. I lined everything up it was fine. Upon the initial start the engine turn freely acted like it was going to start and then it had a clash sound that I've never heard before. I shut it down waited 10 minutes tried to start again same result with the clash. On the 3rd attempt the engine turns and doesn't attempt to start and no clash. I have not a clue what could be causing this. Please help. If you have had any issue please share with me. At my age I don't have any more seasons I might have and I just soon enjoy my passions while I can. Any and all help or Intel in this matter is very much appreciated. Thank you

This is my 93 Dyna wide glide fxdwg belonging to Fred Barger

Don't ask questions for sure in other's thread. Things are going to get totally confusing.

Welcome from Sydney Australia.

Best to ask questions in the various technical areas of the forum as you will probably get better responses. Try asking your speaker question in this area https://www.hdforums.com/forum/audio-systems-153/
