Great forum here - long time looker.

I’ve owned a 2004 FXDL since new. I laid it down like an idiot the first time I rode it (no training, no gear, no surprise) and then commenced with all forms of hackery to the lights and body and all that. It’s been my ”engineering” project for a long time and while it’s sometimes a project, I’ve always enjoyed working on it. Almost as much as riding it.

I’ve been riding just about 20 years with one long trip (~4,000 miles), a few mid-distance trips (~1500 miles), and I commute on a bike. So i did the logical thing and bought another bike as a reliable ride when I was working on the Dyna. That second bike has been a sport tourer and a sport bike, both of which I really enjoy - but they’re not the Dyna.

So over the years I’ve converted the Dyna to EFI by cobbling together used HD OEM parts. Ran great and was super reliable. Still is, but I’m in a quandary that brings me to the forums to do more than just read. I just built the engine, and want a better cam. This’ll be a post somewhere in here before too long.

I punched it out to 95 CI with ~10.6:1 compression, Zippers Stage 2 heads, compression releases, and an Andrew’s TW31S. Straight duals. A dyno tune got me 70hp and 85 ft-lbs (womp womp). It’s a smooth running engine, with tractor like torque, but I find it boring. So I’m looking at a Red Shift 575 to take advantage of the heads and compression.

I think it'll be rowdy and temperamental at low rpm, and thrilling above 2500-ish. Hoping the fast revving shorter stroke of the 95 will help me get there quicker.

I'm really looking for a 100hp/100ft-lb and power band around 2500-6000 rpm.

So that’s why I’m here, and I look forward to learning a lot.

Welcome to the HDFORUM.

I hope you continue to enjoy your ride here.

Only as a suggestion, by me as a USER, create a signature line similar to my one line on my bike information.

The year, model, and all the letters Harley assigned to the bike. It will appear at the bottom of your post.

Doing this will be helpful if you ask a question. All Harleys aren't the same with many changes and variations over the years.

Of course, you can add it to any thread with a question.

You can also add any other details you choose and a favorite picture to the signature lines.

Great suggestion. How do I do that? I don’t see an obvious place to add one under my profile options.
