Hello everyone. I am sort of a new member because I joined a couple of months ago but haven't posted in this part of the forum. So far I really love the HD Forums. I get lots of good information about subjects I am interested in. If I have any complaints it is because the same people seem to write in and the rest (such as me) just stay out of it. We seem to have thousands of members on the forum and many are being quiet about subjects they may have some interesting and accurate input for. Believe me, this is not a put down of those who do write in to answer questions etc. I appreciate everyone's input. I just think there is a lot more untapped talent out there.
I just purchased my 4th HD. I have had a Fat Boy, Ultra Classic, Road King and now a new 2007 red Electraglide Standard which I love so far. I am fortunate in that I have not heard any of the suspicious noises from the transmission as others have. I do hear some popping on decelleration that I will take care of later with possibly 2 in 1 pipes and an Arlen Ness Big Sucker air cleaner. Hopefully that will do the trick. If anyone has a suggestion for improvement I would sure be interested. Thanks to all for the informationI have gathered so far. You are a great group.
I think as a group we could help each other. I see many posts about where to buy a bike. I have bought my last 4 from Thunder Mountain in Loveland, CO. They are a great group to deal with and so far have treated me pretty well. Where I live in WA there is a HD shop close by with great people working there as most are. Why did I buy mine in CO you might ask. Even with the trip going back there, I saved about $1000.00 over what I would have paid here in WA. The set up fee here is $1500.00. At TMHD is is about $300.00. As a group working together sharing that type of information we can all make out. Thanks to all for the opportunity to speak out.
I am presently living in Sequim, WA but my real home (mentally that is) is Canon City, CO.
