Hello,
I'm new to the site but have loved Harley's all my life. Right now I currently don't own a Harley but am looking forward to buying one in the near future (just got to get some bills paid off first). I have some questions about buying a bike. I've ridden motorcycles for a little while and don't consider myself a pro. (bout the only bike's I've ridden are crotch rockets and no bigger then a 600) but I want to buy a 1300 Harley but I don't know the ride difference between a sportster and a dyna. I know that Harley's depreciate in value really slowly but I would like to buy a new bike due to not knowing how the other owner broke in the engine. But if I were to buy a used one how many miles should a bike accumulate on average durring a year (like how much is too much) and how many miles on a bike all together is too much with and with out maintnence records.
To start off welcome to the site. As for the bike choices. My first HD was a 97 sporty 1200c. I got it in 02 and it had about 29k for milage. I knew the owner and the owner before him got it brand new form the dealership that he worked at back home. Now I have a 07 streetbob. I loved the sporty but love the streetbob alot more. the dyna has a little lower center of gravity and its alot more comfortable for me to ride. As for the used bike just ask alot of questions but I would go new if you could. Thats just me though. Good luck.
