Default Hi from Wales

[hr]

Hi all, recently converted to HD after having a few different makes of motorcycles over the past 40 years. The last two have been trikes, can't ride bikes anymore. I thought it would be less fun, but it's more fun Well it is when the machine works. 6 years ago bought my first trike a BMW R1200C Grinnall Trike. It was 4 years and 27000 miles of pleasure, never went wrong worked all the time, and BMW covered the warrantee. Then stupidly I decide to upgrade and I buy a Triumph Rocket 3 Grinnall Trike First 6 months great, took me and my wife on a 2000 mile trip to Spain, no problems. Then it developes a fault, a big fault (not trike related, but triumph disputed everything) and it never recovers, one problem after another. I sell it taking a £10,000 hit in under 2 years. And Triumph treat trikers in an unkindly (a polite way of saying) manner. The Rocket 3 has the potential to be the best bike to trike ever, but not in my lifetime. Haven't had the Ultra Lehman Trike yet so I can only go on looks, and it looks good. Have been promised it beginning of May, I can't wait, off to France in June with a few friends, visit a few art galleries, honestly, I'm an ex-art teacher. Then maybe if it's ok we'll go to the Moto GP in Valencia on it in November, we go every year but usually fly out, would like to try it on the Harley. I'm looking forward to attending my first HD Rally as a HD owner. I was at the Catalunia Rally in 2006 but on the Triumph. No much of a bike show person, too boring, but I have a healthy (my wife reckons it's unhealthy) addiction to bike racing and in particular Moto GP. I would love to attend the Indy GP but I have spent too much money already this year. Hoping to chat to other trikers and get to know the Lehman. I didn't have the opportunity with the other 2 as I was in at the beginning so to speak, here there's a history and I'm looking forward to learning it.
