I am planning on getting my first bike soon. I really like the Sportster 1200's. I have ridden dirt bikes since I was 6 or 7....started off with a little 50 that i ripped the clutch out of...then an 80...125...250... Also rode my brothers on off road bike...dont remember what it was but it was huge! Too heavy and just too darn big for me...Not to say I am a small girl...I am 5' 10" ..150 lbs... pretty strong for a girl....but am looking for my first Harley, and just am not sure about what to get. My dad always had Sportsters, and I did ride couple of times, but that was about 10 years ago.... Is there any women who have any advice for me or any of you guys that have any ideas?
Its not a money thing at all, just trying to figure out what is best. I know honda has several light bikes, but I have the Harley mindset, so am not really wanting a honda...Grew up around the good old boys, and want a Harley.
Welcome from the Seattle area.I would suggest renting a Streetglide and a lowrider to get an idea what you want.Nothing wrong with a sportster either. My wife can ride my Roadking no problem and is a little smaller then you
Welcome from St.Pete Beach Fl..... U can handle a bigger bike than u might think, have a bunch of friends that have baggers, fatboys, and dynas....Sporty's are great but if ya want some comfort, bigger will do it...Either rent some or go to the STEALER to sit on a few might help u decide.. I have enjoyed alot of sporty's and drove them from coast to coast but now that I am somewhat older the comfort is a biggy for me...
I have some friends that have small bikes and when they are bouncing I am a gliding and riding smooth....... Have a great day......and good luck........
Welcome from Ohio, My wife is also looking for a new bike, she really likes the Sporty custom . She has rode mine but is to big for her its a Roadking classic. You should do as others have mentioned and go to the dealer and see what fits you best . I think you will be suprised at how many HARLEYs will fit your needs. My wife is just a bit intimidated by the 96 Cubic inch bikes. She just thinks its to much for her . It all comes down to YOU ! Good luck with your quest and ride safe !!!
Welcome from SOCAL, I too am looking for my 1st HD, but can't decide between the FXDL Low Rider or the FLSTC Heritage Softail Classic. I would strongly suggest you visit the dealers and tryall the bikes until you find one that is comfortable.
