I am in the process of buying my first bike and was hoping to meet like minded people who enjoy riding and could pass along some advice about purchasing a new bike.

Dont they ride camels in Iraq?haha.I assume you are in the service.Hats off to all that serve.Riding is a great way to get away for a while and meet some cool people.There are alot of nice bikes to choose from all that are worth having say Harley Davidson on the tank.JMO
