Hi all. I just wanted to introduce myself. I'm Steve from NJ and I'm looking at buying my first Harley. I'm 6' 1" and originally wanted a sportster, but they feel too small. It looks like a dyna would be better for me. Any help?
Welcome from Vancouver Island, BC, Canada. New here too! Good luck on your quest for a new Harley. To get decent advice, I'd suggest listing what kind of riding you intend to do. Ie: around town, weekend trips, long trips, with spouse or solo, etc.
I'm looking at doing weekend cruises and possibly longer cruises. Forward controls all the way! I wouldn't mind taking on a passenger, but it would mostly be only me.
Hi from Las Vegas. I lived near Freehold for 5 years.
Sounds like you do the same type of riding I do. I started with a Sportster with forward controls and handlebar risers (I'm 6'). It was OK for 2 years, mostly commuting, but never quite enough for day trips with buddys. I picked up a Softail Deuce and am much happier. The softails and Dynas are adequate road bikes but lighter than the cruisers so easier to handle. Good luck with your quest!
Steve,
Spend some time at the dealership and they will be a big help in finding the right bike for you. I shopped quite a bit and got so much great advice from the folks at the dealerships that I was absolutely sure that my Super Glide Custom (Dyna) was the best choice for me. If you are anyhere near Rahway, be sure to say hi to Ryan and Anthony.
