Hey all! My name is Heather and I live in California. I'm married and have a couple kids that are now old enough to tell "be good, mom's goin for a ride" and trust (almost) that my house won't be burned down (although things may be broke!)!! So three weeks ago (after getting my husband's '09 Fat Bob last year) I finally bought my first bike!!! I got an '05 Road King with so much chrome you need shades to look at it or it'll blind you! There's a few things I want to change and would appreciate the knowledge of all you experienced folks!! It's got aftermarket pipes on it but I can't tell what kind they are, the only name I can find on them is cyle shack stamped into the mounting bracket. I'm going to put new pipes but don't know what kind...my friend says Rineharts are good, I like the way the Vance and Hines longshots look, but also like others as well. I'd like to get some opinions as far as power and quality. I have true duals already, just want new slip-ons for it. I am also trying to find a slimmer width, low-profile dual seat. Mine has a Corbin couch and my *** just isn't big enough for it!! I've found a few but none I really like. Any suggestions? Thanks to everyone and I look forward to the great advice!!
Good looking ride you have there. I would ask your questions in the Touring threads. Lots of people there who know more about your bike than the guys who designed it. Welcome from Los Angeles.
Welcome to the site. Where in California do you live? I ask because the simplest thing to do is just go to the different bike hang outs like the SoCal favorites Rock Store, Neptunes Net, Newcombs Ranch or Cooks Corner and check out the bikes there. Your going to come across all kinds of exhaust systems and be able to listen to them and figure out which ones you like. Exhaust is such a personal thing. What sounds good to one person is annoying to another. Otherwise you will end up like me with having over four different exhaust systems on your bike in just a few years!!!!
Heather, welcome from central Washington. You've arrived at the best forum, bar none. Great people, tons of info and the only thing more fun is riding. Glad to have you here and look forward to hearing from you. Geezer
