Timing a ironhead
Does any one have the pics and procedure for timing a 73 ironhead sportster? I need to know how to line up the marks and what to line them up to and also what is the points gap? Im confused got ahead of myself...Thanks

Further to my previous answer, I just did a check on google by typing in 'timing a 73 ironhead sportster' (without the speech marks) and the first page of the results came up with a couple of YouTube video's which might be of some help to you. Unfortunately I couldnt check them out to be sure as YouTube is blocked on my internet access at work. Anyway, I hope this is of some help.

roadpirate--go to teh ironhead section theres people there that can answer any ironhead question you got.i will let them answer the timimng question because of the different types of marks hd used....i dont want to tell you somthing wrong.the points gap should be .018.---good luck.ill cya in the i.h section.
