my brother works for the Battery Shop of New England. has been to their facility and they have tight lock down on the HD battery portion. I bought the Dekka compatible model, which has the terminals on the side of the battery like HD (proprietary HD setup) but comes with spacers to fit (make them flush like the HD) the connections from the main bike, but also has screw terminals on top (save your old screws as the fit) to plug in accessories/battery tender. That way not everything is straight on the front of the battery, something HD should do.

I put the Dekka battery in mine also, was told that they make Harley's but I'm not sure that's true, because it does come with the spacer mentioned above to make it an exact replacement. Weather it's the actual manufature of the Harley battery or not, I've been real happy with it.
