Working on my '01 Softail Deuce
I bought an '01 Deuce last July from a guy that rarely rode it. It had 3000 mi. on it and during the summer I added almost another 1000 to it. I parked it and was gone for a month and a half in Sept/Oct. and when I tried to start it there was no lights or juice. I thought that the battery was dead. I removed it and took it to a Harley shop and they tested the battery which was an "aftermarket" that had 2008 stamped on the side as a purchase date. They said it was good and only needed some charging so I bought a tender and charged it overnight. The next day I hooked the battery up only to get the same dead response. I have the battery out again today and need to check the wiring. I looked at the fuses and they were all good but I don't know how to remove the start relay or system relay fuses (fuel injection) or how to inspect them. Does anyone know how to do this or any other steps I need to take? I would deeply appreciate some feedback. I don't have a trailer to take my Deuce to Harley nor do I have the $$ to pay for service currently. I'm working on my own till I can save the money.
