Default Aloha and Shalom!

I would like to introduce myself, I finally updated my profile with a few comments on my pics (also put in correct order). I have been enjoying my new Harley Crossbones now for about 8 months, yes I can do that here in sunny Oahu! Even through the Winter! The crossbones, as I am sure you ALL know, is the epitome of Harley Davidson, it is the true legend reborn! At least that is how I see it! LOL! I truly love all of them, but thought I would set the record straight! I am truly having the time of my life, too bad I still have a busy schedule, but when I get a break, it truly is the life for me. Love this site, every detail - what a wealth of info. Will take a break so I can post a couple more and get back to the full member privileges. Enjoy the Journey

Default Intro 2

I joined the Army almost 20 years ago, at the start of the Gulf War in 91 and sold the only bike I have ever owned, and could afford - a Honda CX 500, beautiful bike siting out in front of someones lawn with a for sale sign on it. Though I always wanted a Harley, since I was a kid, this bike was right there in my grasp. After 4 years this pristine Honda, had maybe one year left in it before I sold it, which I believe was exactly what happened as it was sold for parts not long after that. I don't know how many miles I put on because I crashed the speedo and odometer, along with the beautiful clear fairing on my first ride, home. Marriage and upcoming Military Assignments, made me decide that I, and my wife, didn't need any more adrenaline rush on top of everything else. But I promised my self that before I got out of the Military, I would ride again, but on a Harley. More to follow on my next post, in order to achieve full member privs.

Default intro 3

Wow, thank you everyone for the quick responses! Dionicio, I was in El Paso TX for about 12 years in between deployments. Good friends, like Richard Valdez, fellow rider, and our Church, ALFC, made for some beautiful memories. Should have bought my bike then. Do you know Norm from Barnett? In fact El Paso was my first Duty assignment and by the time Rich got his harley I was already planning our next moves, Iraq and then Korea came shortly there after, but definitely had the bug and even started buying all kinds of harley stuff.

Had no idea I would end up in Korea for 5 years! All the while talking to the dealer from Military Sales, about my next ride, Heritage Softails, Springers, though Norm in El Paso, almost stole my interest with the new VRod a few years earlier. But by time I was ready to leave Korea, The Crossbones had arrived and restored my true values!!! There was no question in my mind that this was the bike or customization I wanted all along! Even without the joy of riding it, I put 600 down and locked myself in for the next available one in the program.

Thanks to the Cycle City HD Dealership here in Oahu, I was able to solve that minor technicality in no time. And after a day long rental, from Chase, It was confirmed. Well through the program of Military Sales, I had to work out a stop in Vegas, to test ride my actual bike before delivery. So for two glorious days I got to ride through 600 miles of deserts, back roads and highways, from Las Vegas Nevada, through Az to beautiful St George and Zion Park Utah for a break in ride. After 18 years without riding, it was an experience! But it was all well worth it, and now 8 months later, riding on this island, I am looking forward to Labor Day where we plan to ride on the big Island! So much for now, I have already posted a few pics on my profile. Ride Safe and enjoy the journey!
