Hey, guys. Thought I'd finally get on the forums as I'm finally approaching (fingers crossed) time to buy my first Harley. I've grown up around them and other bikes and currently own a sportbike, but my wife is finally showing interest in riding along and after a cruise on my dad's Road King Police trade-in, we were both looking forward to getting one. I'll probably be roaming around, drooling over all your beautiful bikes for a while until I get closer to purchase time next year.
Welcome from Michigan, enjoy the process of picking your Harley out.
Thanks. I'm 90% sure it'll be a Police trade-in. It's the right combination of value, styling and features that is hard to pass up. My dad is pretty happy with his too and my wife really likes it. Yeah never know what deals I might stumble upon though.
I was tempted byt the RK-Police, but stumbled on a deal for a SG. Christmas is coming.........
Yeah, I won't be buying until I find out if I make promotion next year. That's been the deal since my wife and I got married, Tech Sergeant = Harley. It wasn't until I started talking about sticking to sportbikes because I like canyon carving too much that she complained that she likes riding on the back of the Road King and is open to me having two bikes since the FZ1 is paid for. Life is good.
Yes, keep your eyes open and wait for it... There are deals, all you have to do is wait and watch... Don't get emotional about it...
My dad bought his Heritage for $8k and sold it for $12. Some guy just had to sell and needed cash that day, which my dad happened to have. That was a beautiful bike, but when he started having trouble with it, he sold it and paid cash with money left over for his RK PD. I hope I can do that well.
Rule number one, don't take the wife motorcycle shopping.
BTW, I love how your bike is setup. Very classy.
